The Lee Silverman Voice Treatment Improves Vocal Loudness in Early Persian-speaking Patients With Parkinson’s Disease

Objectives: In the early stages, most Parkinson’s patients display some degrees of voice and speech disorders. Speech disorders can negatively affect individuals’ social interactions life; thus, treatment plans for in stages might be further beneficial than late stages. Therefore, we aimed to investigate effects an intervention on Persian-speaking with mild Disease (PD). The was Lee Silverman Voice Treatment (LSVT). Methods: This interventional study included 23 PD. participants were randomly assigned into one two groups; 13 group (PD-I), 10 No-Intervention (PD-NI) group. Normal Persons (NP) or control healthy who neurologically normal presented no Besides, they matched PD-I concerning education, age, gender. Results: There a significant impairment Maximum Phonation Time (MPT), vocal loudness vowel /a/, reading, during monologue PD group, compared NP (P?0.001). LSVT resulted improvement all measures (P?0.001); however, change observed between PD-NI groups’ scores first assessment (P?0.201). contrast, group’s results measurements final significantly lower those (P?0.001) groups. MPT also exhibited considerable controls. Discussion: LSVT, as therapeutic technique based motor learning theory improving their disease.
